Used for the manufacture of high-strength wear-resistant parts operating in corrosive environments or at temperatures up to 4500C - axles, bushings, springs, housings, blades, trunnions, bands, turbines, springs, discs, carburettor needles, fasteners, household items. Resistance to scale formation at long service life up to 6000C. Steel is used after hardening and low tempering with ground and polished surface, has increased hardness. Due to the tendency of steel to spontaneous cracking of parts after quenching immediately subjected to tempering.

Forging temperature: Start - 1200 °C, end - 850 °C. Sections up to 200 mm are subjected to low-temperature forging. Cutting machinability: In the hardened and tempered state at HB 340 and σ B=730 MPa Kn tv.spl.=0,6 Kn b.st.=0,4. Weldability: Not applicable for welded structures.

To improve mechanical properties and corrosion resistance, steels are subjected to hardening heat treatment. Corrosion resistance of steels is also improved after grinding and polishing.

Steel products can be subjected to hardening, tempering and annealing. Hardening and tempering of products is carried out to achieve: a) maximum corrosion resistance; b) a given level of mechanical properties. Hardening of steel products is carried out in oil with 1000-1050 ° C. Holding time at heating under hardening for products with wall thickness or diameter up to 10 mm - 20 min, over 10 mm - 20 min + 1 min per 1 mm of maximum thickness. Steel is sensitive to cracks, so heating thick-walled and complex configuration of products under quenching begin with 500-650 ° C and lead slowly to 800 ° C, after equalising the temperature heating rate should be increased. Immediately after quenching (to avoid spontaneous cracking) products made of martensitic steels should be tempered. Maximum strength properties of products acquire after tempering on the regime: heating to 250-300 ° C, holding 1-3 h, cooling in air. Maximum corrosion resistance and ductility of the products are acquired after tempering under the following regime: heating to 700-750 ° C, exposure - 20 min + 1 min per 1 mm of maximum metal thickness, but not less than 40 min, cooling in oil.

Delivery condition - 143-229 NV Hardening (Tempering) - 460-550 NV

Softening heat treatment is annealing at 750-850 ° C with cooling with furnace to 500 ° C. Tempering at 450-550 °C is not allowed as it leads to a decrease in impact toughness. Billets to improve machinability subjected to intermediate annealing at 600-760 ° C for 2-4 h.
